Meet Philip Louis – Artist & Visionary

Philip’s life has always been immersed in art and creativity. Growing up in an artistic family, his passion for original artwork began in 1976 when he purchased his very first piece, sparking a lifelong journey of exploration and expression.

In the late 1970s and early 1980s, while living in Italy, Philip’s own artistic voice truly came alive under the mentorship of American artist William McCoy. McCoy’s guidance inspired Philip to push boundaries as an experimental artist, embracing innovation and bold creativity—a passion that continues to define his work today.

Beyond his art, Philip’s hands-on experience running a successful business on historic St. George Street gave him deep insight into the vibrant culture and business of St. Augustine. This unique combination of artistic vision and community expertise makes him an invaluable force behind The BART on Aviles, where art, wine, and community intersect.
